Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using ShelfWise, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the app.

Description of Service

ShelfWise is a personal book management application that allows you to:

Catalog and organize your book collection
Scan ISBN barcodes to add books
Track reading progress and statistics
Create custom collections
Sync your library across devices via iCloud (Pro feature)

User Accounts and Data

ShelfWise does not require you to create an account. All your data is stored locally on your device or in your personal iCloud account (if enabled).

Pro Features and In-App Purchases

ShelfWise offers optional Pro features through in-app purchase, including:

Unlimited books (free version limited to 100 books)
iCloud sync across devices
Enhanced statistics and analytics
Custom app icons
Export to multiple formats

All purchases are processed through the App Store and are subject to Apple's Terms of Service. Purchases are non-refundable except as required by law.

User Content

You retain all rights to the content you create in ShelfWise (notes, ratings, custom cover photos, etc.). We do not claim any ownership of your content.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use ShelfWise only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
Use the app in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any systems or networks

Third-Party Services

ShelfWise integrates with third-party services (Google Books API, OpenLibrary API) to retrieve book information. These services have their own terms of service and privacy policies.

Disclaimer of Warranties

ShelfWise is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

The app will be error-free or uninterrupted
All book information will be accurate or complete
The app will meet your specific requirements

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data or profits.

Data Backup

While we strive to ensure data integrity, you are responsible for backing up your library data. We recommend using the export feature regularly to create backups.

Changes to Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the app or any features at any time with or without notice.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Termination

You may stop using ShelfWise at any time by deleting the app from your device. We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to Pro features if you violate these terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of your jurisdiction, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
